Darryl has had over 25 years experience working with families, children and young people.
He is a qualified Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association and has University Qualifications in Counselling, Science (Human Movement), and and is currently studying a Masters of Neuroscience through the University of New England.
Darryl's previous experience working with NGOs in the areas of Schools, Youth, Mental Health and Child Safety have given him opportunities to offer support to people from all walks of life. People often describe Darryl as 'down to earth' and 'easy to talk to'. Darryl's happy place is on his small hobby farm with his sheep and chooks or being immersed in a good book.
Katherine Ranson
Receptionist
Katherine is the super-efficient receptionist at Family Matters. Kat exudes calmness and keeps the front desk running smoothly.
Kat has had a long career in both administration and child care and brings all of those skills to the business.
Kat is happiest relaxing with her husband and kitten Capri watching romantic movies.
Susan Peters

Founder of Creativity Matters
Susan is our Creativity Matters Support Worker and Office Practice Manager. She is the founder of the latest Family Matters project: Creativity Matters.
Susan has a lifetime of experience in various artistic mediums and loves to personally express herself through the mediums of mixed media and water colour.
Susan was awarded “Emerging Artist’ in 2019 at the Fine Arts division of the Stanthorpe Show and was a finalist in the Stanthorpe Art Prize.
Susan is a carer for a family member and has a passion for seeing fellow carers supported and encouraged. She is at her happiest when drawing in her art journal with her cavalier, Eddie, at her side.
Susan and Darryl have been married for 27 years and have two adult daughters. Their family made the “tree change” to Stanthorpe 19 years ago and love being a part of a small community. They live on a small farm and have a menagerie of well loved animals north of Stanthorpe.
Bre West
Creativity Matters
Bre is the newest member of the Family Matters Team! Joining in September 2024 Bre is already an essential member of the Creativity Matters crew.
Bre is a familiar face around Stanthorpe having previously been the owner and operator of Granite Ink. Bre has been a professional artist for 9 years (specialising in tattoo art) and is a lifetime crafter.
Digital art and crocheting are her current obsessions along with preparing for her first baby, due in January.
Bre is currently running classes on Digital Drawing at the Creativity Matters Studio and assisting with our Group crafting sessions.
